Bougainvillea Bonsai Care Guide

Bougainvillea Bonsai Care Guide.

Bougainvillea Bonsai Care has one rule you must specifically follow.Flowering Bonsai Bougainvilla

Give the tree allot of sun and not too much water.

Let the soil dry out between watering, this is very important to avoid root rot.

Position: The Bougainvillea, being a subtropical tree,  needs a relatively high minimum temperature in winter and prefers lots of light as well. Protect it from freezing temperatures.

Watering: , Wait between watering until the soil dries out.  Misting is advisable as the tree likes high humidity.

Feeding: No specifics.

Pruning: To increase ramifications prune/pinch the tree regularly during the growth season. If you wish to grow thicker branches or a thicker trunk remove the flowers at all times, but do not prune the branches.

Re potting: The Bougainvillea needs to be re potted once every 1-2 years, and dislikes strong root pruning.

Propagation: Use cuttings for the Bougainvillea bonsai during the summer.
