Yamadori Juniper Bonsai Progression
This Juniper Bonsai Progression started out as wild collected tree (Yamadori). This is a journal of the progression of the tree. A Juniper that is still a work in progress. We will be posting real time pictures at each stage of the tree’s development. I am very proud of this specimen. I Jinned the unnecessary branches. My plan is to have a dense shelf of foliage across the top of the crown.
Next I wired the hardwood to twist around the trunk of this stunning evergreen. This technique created a twisting deadwood effect around the trunk. My current focus is creating more dense foliage across the top of the tree. The final step will be bleaching the deadwood with Lime Sulfur to highlight the contrast of the hardwood.
4. At this point the foliage has developed the wire has been removed and we have changed to a 12″ Ceramic white pot. Just got my new Dremel tool and bonsai lime sulfur is on the way. Next I will be extensively working on the dead wood of the tree. Foliage pinched back until top canopy is completely filled in.
