Creating a Zen Garden / Bonsai Display From a Dirty Sandlot

First we start by pulling all weeds and clearing debris from the area. It is very important to completely clean the section out and evenly rake the ground. I am preparing here to have the 3 cubic yards of white pea rock which is getting delivered in the next few hours.

Engraved Stepping Stones

The stepping stones come unpainted so we will tape off the engraved letters in the middle of the stones. This will accent the letters.

After covering our Japanese characters with tape we will be painting with outdoor spray paint. The black color of the stepper stones on the white rocks will really pop. This really gives character to our design. The shelves and Bonsai are the feature and the stepping stones are the accent.

Creating a Japanes Garden

Spreading The White Rocks Evenly Across The Ground

Next I carefully raked the new white rocks across the floor.

I then built and assembled our new locking gate for the fence. We will paint it to match the colors of our Japanese Bonsai Garden. This Minimalist sleek clean look is perfect for bonsai.
